About Almus

Patient Safety Award
In 2005, Almus developed the first 'Patient Safety' award for pharmacies in the UK. The award has been created to applaud best practice and innovation in patient safety. It recognises pharmacists' experience in creating practical solutions to risks faced daily in pharmacies.
The award invites pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to share their knowledge and experiences with ideas submitted for the award aimed at expanding the patient safety debate currently building throughout the UK.
Almus Pharmaceuticals is pleased to announce that Peter Glover MRPharmS, Pharmacy Superintendent, Day Lewis plc., has won the Almus Patient Safety Award in pharmacy 2006. Peter Glover's entry appealed to the judges due to exceptional analysis of the causes of dispensing errors plus 'Patient Safety Initiative Programme', a series of practical recommendations to prevent future errors.
